Job Description:

As a Truck Driver at TJ O' Mahony Arklow, your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely deliveries to our valued customers. This role involves various tasks and responsibilities including:

• Checking orders and dockets before departure.
• Ensuring on-time delivery of shipments.
• Collecting signed Proof of Deliveries (PODs) and returning them promptly to the office.
• Conducting daily vehicle and load checks, and reporting any incidents.
• Securing loads before departure, adhering to Health and Safety and Road Safety regulations.
• Performing multi-drops and branch-to-branch runs.
• Driving both long and short distances.
• Collaborating with the Branch Manager to plan delivery schedules and routes.
• Safely handling freight during loading and unloading.
• Documenting important readings and lorry quantities in the driver's logbook.
• Establishing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Requirements:

• Full Clean Driving License.
• C License.
• Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Punctuality and excellent time management abilities.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to meet set deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with local roads and surrounding areas.
• Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• HIAB Crane Licence (desirable but not essential).
• Prior experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential).

Job Type: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Saturday)
